Ludo 2014 Programme

The preliminary programme for Ludo 2014 is now available! There are 24 fantastic papers, two keynote addresses, and a several prominent industry speakers. On day one, following the Intellect-sponsored drinks reception, we have arranged to hold a conference dinner at the wonderful Spanish tapas restaurant, El Castizo. On day two, we are very lucky to announce that we will be hosting a Q&A with Winifred Phillips (composer of Assassin’s Creed Liberation, LittleBigPlanet 2, God of War, author of A Composer’s Guide to Game Music from The MIT Press), and in the evening, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop Concert will be just around the corner. There are a couple of other entertainment plans we have up our sleeves that we’ll announce in due course! Day three will have a late start at 10am to allow time for delegates to check-out of their hotels. Please note that the draft programme is subject to change.

Tickets for the conference are selling well. Please do make sure you register early to ensure you secure a place!

We are very excited to announce that registration has opened for Ludo 2014. Please register and book your accommodation as soon as possible. We had a loads of really great submissions this year, so the selection process was difficult. However, we now have a really interesting and diverse set of papers; full programme details with abstracts will follow shortly.

Ludo 2014 Details

We are pleased to announce further details of our programme for the Ludo 2014 Chichester conference.

Proceedings

Intellect have agreed to produce a proceedings special issue of The Soundtrack with selected papers from the conference. They have also been very generous in sponsoring our drinks reception!

Industry Session

We are particularly excited that Richard Jacques and James Hannigan will be discussing their work in a Q&A session.

  • Richard Jacques, composer of James Bond 007: Blood Stone (Activision), Mass Effect (BioWare), Alice in Wonderland (Disney), Headhunter (Amuze/Sega) and Starship Troopers (Empire/Sony Pictures).
  • James Hannigan, composer of games from the Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Command & Conquer, Wing Commander, Warhammer and Dead Space franchises.

Accommodation

We have arranged discounts with The Ship Hotel for conference delegates (subject to availability). There will be alternatives available too. Further details on how to book will be made available on the registration pages in the coming days.
